Compliance status
This website has been tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
- The Landing page and following pages are each embedded as a frame which is missing the page titles. This may cause screen readers to not announce the pages correctly. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 4.1.2 Name, role, Value. We are planning to add area-labelled by attribute to this frame by Q2 2025
- The webpage’s primary language is not programmatically identified (all pages). This will cause screen readers not to be able to render the text accurately. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 3.1.1 language of the page. we are aiming to add language attribute to our html element by Q2 2025
- On the landing page there is an image of imperial Logo along with Imperial Transition Pathways Explorer which does not have an alternative text. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 non-Text content. We are planning to add discernible alternative texts to all images that convey critical info or mark them as decorative if they are not conveying critical information by Q2 2025
- Throughout the website here are several elements which have very low colour contrast ratio. There are various texts and elements that are not meeting the minimum .4.5:1 contrast ratio such as Orange on white background, light grey on grey, light grey on white etc. We are planning to change all pages and all elements to meet minimum 4.5:1 colour contrast ratio by Q2 2025
- On the first page of the calculator, there is an area defined as “Set all levers to” however the adjacent element (which is a form element) does not have an accessible name. This will cause screen reader users not to be able to comprehend and interact with this field. This fails WCAG 2.2 criterion 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value. We are planning to add discernible text to all form elements, lists, buttons and links by Q2 2025
- Beyond the second page onwards the site hosts a calculation tool, which presents itself as several interactive complex graphics. The information is conveyed mainly by colour only. This may cause confusion and difficulty for colour blind users This fails, WCAG success 2.2 criterion 1.4.1 use of colour. We are planning to add texture to these graphics by Q2 2025
